The NKBA is built on a foundation of great leadership, and has thrived for nearly six decades through the efforts of dedicated volunteers at the local and national levels. Nominations for 2022 national leadership positions, including on the Board of Directors and on various committees, will be open Sept. 1 to 30.
There are two positions open on the Board of Directors, which leads the Association in carrying out the strategic plan, hires and works with the CEO, holding him/her accountable and focuses on matters of NKBA policy at the highest levels.
There are two open positions for 2022 on the Chapter Leadership Committee (CLC). The CLC provides a link among the NKBA chapters, staff and the National Board of Directors. This committee is charged with monitoring member needs and wants at the chapter level and conveying these needs to NKBA Staff. To be considered, applicants must be a current chapter officer or have previously served at least one full term as a chapter officer within the last two years.
The Leadership Recruitment Committee (LRC) has two open positions for next year. The LRC identifies and screens potential candidates to fill open positions on the Board of Directors and other committees as directed by the Board. The Committee then presents a recommended slate for vote by the Board.
To be considered for the Board, LRC or CLC, candidates must be NKBA members in good standing.
Finally, there are three open positions on the KBIS Exhibitor Committee. This Committee provides a link between the exhibitors and attendees of KBIS and the NKBA Board of Directors to ensure that their needs are being appropriately monitored and evaluated. The KBIS Exhibitor Committee advises NKBA staff and the National Board of Directors on industry trends and makes recommendations for appropriate products, programs and services, to meet the needs of the exhibitors and attendees. To be considered, applicants must have been an exhibitor at KBIS in 2020 and must have a firm commitment to exhibit at KBIS in 2022.
No firm, corporation, entity or employer may have more than one representative serving simultaneously on the board or any committee. No related family members may serve simultaneously on any Committee, nor may any member serve on two national committees simultaneously.
