The pandemic has continued to boost Americans’ interest in buying a home, with 16% saying they want to buy in the next 12 months, according to the National Association of Home Builders’ Housing Trends Report for the first quarter of 2021. That figure is up from 10% last year, and it’s the largest year-over-year increase in the study’s history. As is well-documented, the home-buying process — in preparing to sell as well as immediately after purchase — is a major driver of home remodeling.
