The National Kitchen & Bath Association inducted Daniel Louis into the Kitchen & Bath Industry Hall of Fame, which honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the industry, at KBIS 2018 in Orlando.

Louis, owner and CEO of Laser Product Industries, is an inventor and businessman who has developed precise laser measuring systems that make it fast, easy and affordable for any size manufacturer of kitchen cabinets and countertops to fabricate high-quality products.

“Daniel has contributed to the excellence of our industry with his innovations in digital templating,” said Lorenzo Marquez, Chairman of the NKBA Board of Directors, who bestowed the honor at the annual Design Competition and Industry Awards on Jan. 8. “His combination of technical expertise and creative vision has streamlined and simplified the fabrication process, making precisely crafted cabinetry and countertops accessible for all projects.”

“In over 23 years with Laser Products, I never thought that such recognition would come my way,” said Louis as he accepted the award. “My goal, from the very beginning, was just to help other people out. I saw a problem in how truly cumbersome it was to measure for countertops and cabinets and, thankfully, I had the resources to engineer a solution. It makes me very happy to know that our products are helping people be more efficient, save them time and money, and as a result, live better lives. I tell my employees all the time that ‘the company exists for the people,’ and that’s a philosophy we try to live by every day.”

Louis, who holds numerous patents for his inventions, created a laser system that allows manufacturers to document and measure jobs, add jobsite details and generate estimates. The system automatically translates the data points into a 2S or 3D file that can be approved on-site by the customer, emailed to the shop for fabrication, and can interface with all leading cabinet and countertop design programs.

Louis’ company won the 2017 AWFS Visionary Award for Productivity and Innovation. Over 80 percent of U.S. countertop fabricators who use digital templating own an LPI product.
