The Association representing the main furniture cluster in Brazil has joined NKBA’s international business development program.

The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), representing more than 55,000 North American kitchen and bath industry professionals and the owners of the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), proudly announces that Sindmóveis, the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves, representing 300 companies in the main furniture cluster in Brazil, has joined its NKBA Global Connect business development initiative as a Strategic Alliance Partner.

This exclusive NKBA program is designed to bring the global kitchen and bath community together by exchanging market insights, information and product development ideas, and sharing go-to-market strategies to help international companies explore business opportunities in the North American market. NKBA Global Connect Strategic Alliance Partners agree to collaborate and cooperate on mutually beneficial programs, sharing business and market insights for the benefit of the global kitchen and bath industry.

Sindmóveis, founded in 1977, represents 300 companies in the municipalities of Bento Gonçalves, Monte Belo do Sul, Pinto Bandeira, and Santa Tereza. This is the most significant furniture-producing region in the country in terms of volume and number of companies. The organization offers support to its members and helps encourage growth for the sector through political and commercial activity, program development, as well as union representation. It is also focused on design and exports, which it considers essential for sustainable growth in the sector.

Sindmóveis produces Movelsul, the main furniture trade fair in Latin America that takes place in Rio Grande do Sul; it conducts the Salão Design Award, Brazil’s major furniture design award, created in 1988 to recognize innovation and outstanding design in the industry, and it organizes the Orchestra Brasil Project, an initiative that exports components, accessories chemicals, machinery, software, and tools needed to manufacture furniture for the world’s leading furniture producers.

“Sindmóveis is one of the preeminent trade associations in all of Latin America, and we are delighted to welcome them to NKBA’s Global Connect initiative as a Strategic Alliance Partner,” said Bill Darcy, Global President and CEO of NKBA. “This outstanding organization will contribute greatly to helping facilitate a meaningful dialogue among international business entities. Global Connect fosters a greater understanding of the nuances of conducting business internationally, particularly for global companies that wish to explore entry into the North American market. NKBA is committed to increasing opportunities for our members to connect with international firms, and to providing the tools for companies around the world to do business here.”
